Siding

Vinyl Siding, wood shakes,
cedar, or clap board siding, we are experts in installing any of these
materials which help insulate your home, keep out moisture, and give it
the look you desire. However, we recommend Vinyl siding your home as it
may be one of the best improvements you can make. There are many
advantages to vinyl siding, such as reduced energy costs, a maintenance
free exterior, lifetime material warranties, and an almost immeasurable
increase in your homes curb appeal.
The Process
TopLine Construction
will be with you every step of the way to ensure your complete
satisfaction. Our former customers and new friends have similar
questions when it comes to siding their home, we will try and address
those concerns here and explain the typical process. You can also
read our FAQ for
more information. Once you contact us we will setup an informal meeting
at your home with absolutely no sales pressure. There we will
discuss your goals and options, as well as take measurements so we can
provide an accurate estimate with no hidden costs or surprises. We will
provide real material color samples of your choice for your siding,
trim, and accents. There are times when existing siding must be
removed in order to install your new siding, for example, existing vinyl
siding must always be removed before installation of new materials.
However, when it is feasible and existing siding is in good condition,
we highly recommend keeping the existing siding and installing the new
vinyl siding over it. This provides greater thermal and sound
insulation for your home as well as eliminates the labor cost and trash
removal cost associated with removing the existing siding.
We follow
strict installation procedures and ALWAYS use Tyvek house wrap on new
installations, or if existing siding will remain the home is "wrapped"
with a layer of 1/2-inch foam before siding is installed. Whether
you choose to use our services or are just gathering information, be
sure your contractor is doing this! We have been hired in the past
to correct these shortcuts/mistakes made by other installers who have
omitted this step completely.
Once you have your
estimate and have had a chance to make your decision, assuming you are
satisfied with the estimate and want to move forward, we can then
schedule a start date, identify preferred location for the trash
container (dumpster is usually place on the driveway with wood blocks
below it to prevent driveway damage), establish order material delivery
date and location (may include windows, doors and gutters if desired).
Topline Construction
will remove and re-attach any wiring on the home with no loss of service
(cable, phone, electric meter). We also remove your existing
lights and can re-use or replace with new lighting fixtures of your
choice. Most homeowners, take this opportunity to change the old
lighting fixtures with something new or to change hard to reach flood
light bulbs. A very common occurrence among our customers is to
use our services to install/repair/replace the gutters of their home or
modify the drain locations of down spouts. This makes sense since
the existing gutter (if any) must be removed when installing new siding.
The same applies to the number plates of the house, the doorbells, and
in some municipalities, the mailbox.
Last of all in the
process, is final clean up of the yard and our favorite aspect...the
final walk through with the owner of a spectacular looking home! At
this point any questions or concerns should be addressed. We will
also follow up with a courtesy call 30 days after the job is completed
to confirm your satisfaction and we hope to hear that we have exceeded
your expectations.
